Who qualifies

Simple rules, written in plain English

You can refer someone if

  • You’re 18 or older and live in Ontario.
  • You’re not an employee of Parry Sound Chevrolet Buick GMC, or an immediate family member of one.
  • You’ve asked your friend first and they’re okay with us contacting them.

A referral counts when

  • The person you refer hasn’t bought from us or been working with one of our sales consultants in the past 12 months.
  • The referral form is submitted before they take delivery of the vehicle.
  • They buy or lease a vehicle from us and take delivery. confirm New and pre-owned, or new only.

Frequently asked

Do I have to be a Parry Sound Chevrolet Buick GMC customer to refer someone?
No. Anyone 18 or older living in Ontario can refer a friend, whether or not you’ve bought from us before. Dealership staff and their immediate families are the only exception.
Is there a limit to how many people I can refer?
No limit. Every referral that leads to a sale earns $200. Refer three people who buy and you’ve earned $600.
When and how do I get paid?
Your reward is issued after your friend takes delivery of their vehicle and the sale is finalized. confirm The dealership will specify the payment method (cheque, e-transfer, prepaid card or dealership credit) and the typical turnaround, for example within 30 days of delivery.
What if my friend was already talking to someone at the dealership?
To keep things fair for everyone, the referral has to come in before your friend starts working with us. If they’ve already bought from us or have been in contact with one of our sales consultants in the past 12 months, the referral won’t qualify.
Does a pre-owned vehicle count?
confirm Dealer to decide. Our recommendation is yes: pre-owned sales count toward the $200 reward the same as new, which keeps the rule easy to explain.
Can I refer a family member? Can I refer myself?
Family members, yes. Yourself, no. The buyer and the person referring them have to be two different people, and the reward can’t be applied as a discount on the referred vehicle.
Is the reward taxable?
Referral rewards may be considered income. We don’t provide tax advice, so check with your accountant if you’re unsure.

The fine print

Program terms

  1. The Friends & Family Referral Program is offered by Parry Sound Chevrolet Buick GMC, 80 Joseph St, Parry Sound, ON P2A 2G5 (the “Dealership”).
  2. A referrer must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of Ontario. Employees of the Dealership and members of their immediate household are not eligible.
  3. A referral is valid only if submitted through the online form or recorded by a Dealership sales consultant before the referred person takes delivery of a vehicle, and only if the referred person has not purchased from or been in active contact with the Dealership’s sales team in the previous 12 months.
  4. One reward of $200 CAD is paid per eligible vehicle purchased or leased by a referred person and delivered by the Dealership. confirm Eligible vehicles: new and pre-owned / new only.
  5. Rewards are issued confirm by [cheque / e-transfer / prepaid card / dealership credit] within [30] days of delivery. The reward cannot be applied to the referred person’s purchase and has no cash value other than as stated.
  6. If two people refer the same buyer, the earliest valid referral on file receives the reward.
  7. Referrers are responsible for any taxes that may apply to rewards received.
  8. By submitting a referral, the referrer confirms they have the referred person’s consent to share their contact details and to be contacted by the Dealership. Personal information is collected and used in accordance with the Dealership’s privacy policy and applicable Canadian privacy and anti-spam legislation.
  9. The Dealership may change, suspend or end the program at any time. Referrals submitted before any change will be honoured under the terms in effect when they were submitted.
